is the ford ranger a good work truck?

i am getting ready to purchase a new truck and i was just wondering if anyone knew if the ford ranger was a good truck for work. i need a truck that will be able to haul semi heavy loads, carry lumber, concrete bags, debrie, tools, etc. I have a utility bed and i'm planning on installing it on the new truck. So does any on know if the ranger will be able to fit my needs? If not then what would you suggest? Thank you for your time.
