Thunderbird Solid
Why should I move to Thunderbird?
I'm a great lover of Firefox, and wouldn't touch internet explorer with a barge pole. I love my FF extensions and couldn't live without them.
However, at work, I'm a solid MS Outlook user (I user gmail for all personal mail).
Could anyone tell me what advantages (or disadvantages) I would have if I moved over to Thunderbird.. The only features of Outlook I use are its standard email features, flagging and archiving. I'm not really a power user.
I don't really want to waste time experimenting unless it's really going to improve my e-mail experience.
What's so great about thunderbird? How does it kick outlook's butt? Does it have any big disadvantages? And if I was to swtich, what thunderbird extensions would you recommend I install. And can I migrate my outlook .pst file (with 3 years worth of archived work e-mail) into Thunderbird easily?
Hey there is a world of difference between outlook and thunderbird. But i do agree Thunderbird is a powerful appliaction, and since you are not a power user you can definitely switch to thunderbird. There is an option to import pst files into Thund.
Thunderbird has the flagging features as well so i guess you would want to migrate.
