Powerstroke Diesel
Is it normal to run a compression test on a 1999 powerstroke diesel?
A friend took his truck to the shop and they put it on the computer and told him there wasnt any thing wrong with it and then suggested acompression check which they said took 4 hrs and costed $300...did he get screwed?
A compression check for a gasoline motor is much easier than one on a diesel motor due to the fact that the injectors or glow plugs have to be removed to compression test. It does sound high, but at 90 dollars an hour for labor any more it probably is correct.
