how much does the rebuild on 2000 JEEP GRAND CHEROKEE LIMITED cost?

i wanna buy a 2000 JEEP GRAND CHEROKEE LIMITED for 500$ from a friend but it need a engine rebuild i was wondering how much it costs to do that? and does the car worth it i mean is it a nice car ? how much gas does it use ? thanks for your help

depends on what engine it has i think they made some of the limiteds with the 4.0 if thats the case they are fairly easy to find at a good price but if it has the 4.7 you are lookin at a lil more money just a wild guess i would say around 2000 t0 2500 for a motor from a salvage yard and probably 7 or 800 to have it put in below is a site where u can search engines at salvage yards all over the country.
