Fuse Readings, what should they be?
I have a 2001 GMC Sierra 1500, 5.3L, 4X4 Z71, SLT Pick-up Ex Cab. I have been getting diagnostic codes Po171, Po174 which refer to O2 Sensors. I have replaced all four and the codes continue to return. While reading the different forums, I came across something about O2 Sensor fuses and how the fuse could be blown. I checked the fuses and they are intact. What I would like to know is two different things:
1. Should there be a reading at the fuse with the ignition off and if so, how much. The current reading is zero.
2. How would I check to see/find out if I have an intake manifold leak which could be causing the "lean" issue at the sensors.
If anyone reads this and you are willing to help and need more info, please reply here or send me an email to dr_coach2002@yahoo.com
Dodgeman-----I would like to speak with you directly. email me and I will give you my number or something. I have more Q's and it would be easier to ask than type....thanks so much...Doug
the fuse is for the o2 heater, if they were blown then that would set a different code, most likely the lean condition is caused by either a plugged fuel filter or a bad fuel pump, you need a pressure tester to find out if the pump is bad, also could be a vacuum leak.
