Why am i only getting 14-15 mpg hwy in my '93 Chevy Cheyenne (4.3 vortec, auto)?What would you like to ask?

Ive looked on fourms and it seems everyone else gets around 20 mpgs in the same truck. I have a bulky cap on the bed which may contribute to drag. Should I remove it and preform a tune up at the same time? What specifically would help. The truck feels smooth and has 130,000 miles on the odometer. Thanks!

Sounds like you might need to check/replace your oxygen sensor. My friend has a 1997 4x4 with 4.3 (with 140,00 miles) and gets 18-20 highway after replacing sensor.
