Special Order
When did "special order" become a phrasal verb?
I was watching tv commercial, and there was Chinese lady saying "If you can not find what you want, we can special order for you".
What should be the correct way of rephrasing what she said?
*I also notice a lot of online store using "can special order for you"
Yep, I think public media is not educating people well. I can not believe TV commercial can broadcast ads like that.
I am in import/export/manufacturing sector, I usually tell my clients if they would like a product made with customized specification, I would "place" a special order for them.
"We can do/make a special order for you." Or maybe: "We can order in special/ly) for you."
To the best of my knowledge it is not a phrasal verb yet, and as much as it may make me sound like I wear tweed, I shant be disappointed if it fails to make the leap
Oh, place is probably better. Its more commonly associated with the verb order than the other two.
