2002 pontiac grand am - ABS and trac off light just came on after large noise. Help!!?

I just recently had my front brakes replaced, and need rear brakes replaced but the shop said I could hold off on a bit. I can't find my owner's manual.....anyone know what the ABS and trac off lights coming on means??? And as I said, there was a large strange noise (like near my tires, etc) before they came on (as I was coming to a stop). Help!!!

Im going with wheel speed sesor, same thing happened to me.
