Speed Silver
I drove past a display that tells you your speed and it flashed a silver light; am I going to get a ticket?
Although I know it was stupid, I went past one of those signs that is a digital display that tells your your speed (very small and usually right below a posted speed limit). I was going 35mph in a 25mph zone. Normally I thought those signs were just to tell you your speed to alert a driver who may not know how fast they are driving, but this time a small circular silver light flashed from within the display and was rather noticeable. No sound came from the display (as far as I know). I am now wondering if I am going to get a ticket, or if it just flashed to alert me that I was going so fast. I didn't think those send tickets because they are just on small side streets and because there isn't a warning for a photo enforced camera. Someone please help me out with an answer. If it helps, I live in Naperville, Illinois.
This is just a small neighborhood street with no warnings for photo enforcement. I am wondering if there could be any other reason for the silver light flashing
There are a few of those where I live. I believe they are only flashing to get your attention.
One time my friend was driving through one of those areas, and the sign flashed at him, said he was going 41 MPH in a 25 [oops] and he never got any tickets in the mail or anything.
I'm sure its just there to get your attention more. I wouldn't worry about it.
