Speed Htd
Why do I lag while playing online games on my PC?
I don't play games like CoD or Crysis (not that I don't like them) but play online games such as DOTA and WoW. I would always lag and lose connection and don't know why this is happening. How can I reduce this issue without spending alot of money?
Here are the some of the specs to my desktop:
AMD Athlon 64 2.2 GHz
Asus EN 7300 GS HTD 256MB
3GB ddr2 ram
54 Mbps netgear wireless PCI adapter
I don't think the Internet connection is bad, it is second to the best connection speed that comcast offers
My router is a Linksys E1000 wireless N router
Look, RAM has nothing to do with it, neither does processor. the 7300 GS is NOT build to play games, I highly recommend a Graphics Card upgrade, assuming your motherboard has a PCI X16 slot. This is not the problem, but will make your gaming experience MUCH better.
if you lose connection, its a problem with your internet. Only join servers with pings under 200. The higher the ping, the farther the server is from your location, therefore information will take longer to travel that distance. It might also be a problem with your wireless adapter, I suggest testing it with other systems and seeing if it does the same thing. If its not that, its a problem with your internet service provider, maybe you should give them a call, they are rely good when it comes to internet problems.
If you have more than 1 computer or internet device drsporadicm the same signal, you will experience disconnects and spiriodic "cut offs". That could also be the problem, but I rely think the problem lies within your netgear PCI adapter.
