Chrysler Sebring blower only working on 3 and 4?

I own a 2002 Chrysler Sebring GTC and the heat and air only blows on 3 and 4. Ive done some research and everyone is saying its the resistor but some are saying that after replacing the resistor it goes out again and it is due to the blower motor. Has anyone had this problem and got it solved if so please let me know what i need to do. I dont want to buy the resistor and it go out right after i buy it.

you need to replace the resistor first. if it burns out again then you can replace teh blower motor. the blower motor will cause the resistor to fail but 19 times out of 20 the resistor is all it takes.
