I want to use mac mini as main hub of home entertainment?

For my living room I like the idea of getting rid of my dvd player, PVR and hifi and replacing it with a Mac Mini and a set of Bose Companion 3 or 5 speakers.
I could use the mac to play dvd's, record digital tv programmes (will use Elgato Eye TV) and play CD's/itunes. BUT - I want to control it with a remote control and not have to use a keyboard and mouse all the time. Could I do this? Would 'Front Row' allow me to navigate this way?

Get a Dell Studio Hybrid insted of a Mac, they are much better.
