USB Web Cam over ethernet & mains network?

I want to put a webcam in my spare room as a security camera. My PC is in the living room some 25ft away. Rather than getting a very long USB cable, IM thinking about the following setup:-
Plugging the USB webcam in to a USB/ethernet adapter which then plugs in to an ethernet over mains power plug adapter(this forms a network over the mains), at the PC end, I reverse the setup and end up with a USB connector which plugs in to my PC USB socket. Will this work?

By the looks of it, it should work. If the Ethernet cord is converted back into USB, then there should be no problems.
