How do I make my Ranger XLT louder?

I want to make it a bit louder, its a 1990 Ranger XLT 4x4 2.9L v6, the last stretch of piping (muffler) was rusted a bit, so I just cut it off about 4 inches after the Resonance Chamber and Perferated Pipe container thing. (The Last big box after the Catalytic Converter) and it isn't loud enough. Any easy ways to make it louder?

Have an exhaust shop cut off the old exhaust after the cat and have them install new piping with a new muffler such as a Flowmaster 40 series, Thrush welded (half the price of the Flowmaster), or a Cherry Bomb Pro. Otherwise you could look into a glasspack, which is usually fairly cheap and is a straight-through design which means a louder exhaust.

You could always cut off everything past the cat and go open exhaust, but you run the risk of being pulled over by a cop.
