Is it possible for me to wear Circle Lenses? Please Help Me Out! >.
I have a astigmatism, (and already wear contacts to see) but i want circle lenses and i can't really find any that match my prescription... (sorry but im not really sure how to read it
)
LEFT EYE: [BC 8.4] [DIA 14.4] [PWR -2.25/-2.25X10]
RIGHT EYE: [BC 8.4] [DIA 14.4] [PWR -2.25/-1.75X160]
Also, could i just get plain no prescription circle lenes and then just wear my glasses over top of them..? Or would my base curve still have to match the ones that they are selling, because they all seem to come in 8.6 and my base curve is 8.4, would that big of a difference be bad?
There are special circle lenses for people with astigmatism--aka toric lens. The bad thing is, they're usually double the price of normal circle lenses
Not to mention there aren't that many styles available.
Most lenses DO come in 8.6 (BC), but people have found that as long as your BC is +/-0.2, it should be fine. AKA 8.4 isn't a perfect fit, but it should be okay. As in, most don't have a problem with it. It just depends, really.
Since it seems that you'd be okay with wearing glasses, I would totally recommend getting plano (non-prescription) circle lenses and wearing your glasses over them.
If you have astigmatism, normal lenses aren't really going to work for you... I mean, if it's very slight, you can try, but lenses aren't worth it if you can't see well.
