what does the stimulus package contain for new car buyers?
I know we get to deduct the state taxes, but on a $25,000 car that's only a savings of about $750. Are there any other clauses or incentives for say turning in my 1997 model or buying a non hybrid car that gets over over 30 mpg?

In Illinois, the sales tax you would get back on a $25K car is between $2,000 and $2,600.
That is the only incentive to buy a new car, right now. And it doesn't just apply to cars that get over 30 mpg.
