Subaru WRX Performance Question?

Im Planning on buying a Subaru WRX, i know the top performance is the STi Version but i can only afford the WRX...How much power can i get from a WRX? Can i Beat a STi? Can i really make it fast as an STi With some MODS? Thanks in Advance Guys! Any help or info would be appreciated

The quick answer is if you are looking for straight line speed, then yes. You will need a tune, downpipe, catback, blow off valve, etc, maybe even a fuel pump, fuel rails, and turbo upgrade if you want a lot of power. If you want the braking, handling, ride, and grip also, then it will be more expensive than an STi. Depends on what you are looking for.
