Leather Non
How do you clean your non-leather horse stuff?
Specifically, saddle pads and nylon halters? Mine need a good wash really badly. Lol. Thanks in advance!
Thank you everyone! That being said, do you wash you pads alone, or throw in rags or horsey towels too?
I put my halters in a bucket of water (or in the stream of water from a hose) and scrub it with a brush. I usually just use my horse's body brush since it's always on hand, and stiff enough
But a toothbrush or toilet brush could work, too. Scrub scrub scrub all the muddy parts, then hang to dry. That's also how I clean fly masks and fly boots
Saddle pads - in the washing machine, then hang to dry (don't put in the dryer). I'll spray any really muddy/dirty spots with spray-n-wash or some other stain remover first (which usually means I spray the whole underside). You can also scrub a little at the muddy/sweaty spots with a stiff brush after applying stain remover before washing, too. I try to wait until I have a whole load of horsey stuff (or rags, or cat stuff) because there might still be some hair on everything when you're done.
If it's a fleece pad and you want to make it look fluffy again for a show, you can brush at it with a metal dog grooming brush
