Hybrid Fact
Can anyone show me the proof that "Hybrid Vigor" actually is real?
So, many of us have heard of "hybrid vigor" but is there any real documentation on it? I would like to see some evidence on this? I would like facts, not opinions.
as far as breeding mixed breed dogs.. no its not real. Because mixed breed dogs are NOT "hybrids".
A hybrid animal is the result of breeding 2 different species. All dog breeds are the same specie.. just different variations.
I think more often than not, when you breed a hybrid, you actually get an unhealthy animal. It just depends on what genetics the offspring gets.. and how well the genes match up. Most hybrids are also sterile.
Some examples of hybrids are:
Ligers/Tigons (lion/tiger)
Mules (horse/donkey)
Zebroid is a Zebra mix.. Zorse (horse/zebra) Zonkey (zebra/donkey)
Cama (Camel/Llama)
