I'm looking to buy a used avalanche or used escalade ext?

with the rest beening equal which is the best eng the chevy 5.3L, caddalic 6.0L or the avalanche's 2500 8.1L. I dont see me doing much heavy hauling of a trailor

The 5.3 chevy averages 20 mpg or better. it produces over 300 hp and is smooth in it's operation. This engine is available as a multi-fueler and in the smart mode--cuts back 4 cylinders at no strain operating. The 6.0 in escalade is a sophistacated great engine, but the initial cost and cost of repair is high. The 8.1 is a great engine if you are towing heavy-heavy loads but not very fuel efficient.
