How do I reset the computer on a 2008 GMC 5500 Duramax diesel? Engine light and exhaust gas light are on. ?

Fire dept just got a new 2008 GMC 5500 Duramax Diesel. Truck lost all power going to a call. The truck wont go over 15mph. The check engine light and the exhaust gas light are both on. What would cause this. The truck has only 1100 miles on it. Thanks

need to have a mechanic with a scanner and a code reader check to see what fault codes are set. Engine mgt system (computer) is running in limp home mode. So something has failed in the electronics.
