Dually Diesel
I have a 2001 Dodge Ram 3500 Dually Diesel...?
1.) What would cause my truck to take 30 minutes to warm up completely?, if not when i try to drive it after it has been started for 10 minutes it will not shift out of 1st or second gear...
2.) My third brake light is out and has been out for months, but the lights are ok and i cannot find a fuse that is burnt any ideas?
easy one first. replace the 3rd brake lamp bulb. it is wired to the rest of the lamps and doesn't have its own fuse. on the other problem-now cold is it outside? older cummins engines take a long time to warm up when it is cold, especially in stop and go situations. a half hour may be long if it is not real cold. most likely it is a thermostat problem. it is a dual poppet with rubber seals to help stop the water flow when it is cold. they seals sometimes leak. the trans will not shift normally or give you all gears until the trans fluid and coolant temperatures or up. this is a protection feature for the trans.
