How do I save a DVD+RW disc onto my computer?

I got a new video camera, and I don't know how to download the files from it onto my computer. I can watch the files on my computer off of the DVD+RW disc, but not save any of the files. Please help me! Easy 10 points if you know what to do.

If your video camera saves video on an mpg or avi format then you just need browse the disc content using Windows explorer then copy the file.

If it's saved on a DVD format (the DVD disc can be played on a regular DVD player) then you need a DVD ripper to extract the video content into your computer.

I personally use this DVD ripper software.
