Damaged Wrecked
legal issue- buying a used car that has been wrecked in north carolina?
we bought a truck a few months ago. when we bought it they showed us a report showing the vehicle had not been wrecked or any damages of that nature. we have been looking at it and had someone else look at it and have found that it has been wrecked. we live in north carolina does anyone know the law or can give any advice??
First off, this would not fall under any lemon law guidelines.
Secondly, if the Carfax report was clean and the title is not a rebuilt/salvage title, there is nothing you can do. If you still have the copy of the original report, you can look into the Carfax 'Buy-back" guarantee they claim to have.
Unfortunately, its the buyers responsibility to have a car inspected prior to purchasing. Carfax reports are not 100% accurate because if the damage is fixed in house, then it wouldn't show up on the report. I certainly can understand your frustration and wish you the best of luck.
