Clean Reserve
any suggestions on safe, clean, cheap hostels to stay at in Dublin?
Is it better for me to reserve my stay online before I leave or wait and go to the place and do it in person once I get there?
Also, is it better to travel by bus or train from Dublin to other towns?
there are plenty of good hostels in Dublin, although being a native i have never stayed in them.

this site list hostels, and has ratings.
As far as trains or buses. Ireland does not have a great railway system, nearly everything is via Dublin. Which is crazy.
I went to college in Galway, so it was OK for me to get the train, as I am from Dublin, but my other classmates, who lived in Limerick, or Cork, would have to get the Dublin train, get off in the middle of the country, and get a connecting train, so more hassle than it was worth.
Bus Eireann have a broader service, so really it depends on where you want to go. Other cities, get the train, anywhere else, get the bus.
