How do you adjust the torsion bars on my 2003 chevy Silverado 2500hd to bring the front up a couple of inches? ...
Do i need a special tool? a torsion key? or can i use my own tools?
You will just need a socket and ratchet to adjust the torsion bars.
I'm not sure what size your adjuster bolts are, but will take a socket around 21mm in size. You will find the bolts (1 per torsion bar) that are orientated vertically on the cross member at the rear part of the torsion bars.
Turn each adjustment bolt clockwise the same amount to increase the ride height. I would go two full turns at a time, then move the truck forward and backward a few feet to allow the suspension to 'settle'; (as the suspension cycles through its travel, the tires move inward and outward, so moving the truck allows the tires to travel center themselves underneath the hub).
If you go up a couple of inches, you WILL need to get the front end aligned.
