Chevy Astro
Can I remove the sparkplus on my 1991 Chevy Astro without removing the engine?
I have removed the doghouse and I can see the sparkplugs... but can you remove them to replace them without dropping the engine? They look really hard to get to, and they have been in there for at least 150K miles. Should I be worried about them breaking or stripping? Will shooting the threads with break free actually help? Any tips? Also... it looks like an electronic dist, am I correct or does it have a cap and rotor that needs replacing? Thanks In Advance.
It is a 1991 v6 4.3l z engine.
yea,i would spray them with some pb blaster and let them soak.you should be able to get to them,if you got the right tools.do you have a swivel,an extension and ratchet?also a 5/8th socket.even they are tight, they still should come out.try working them back and forth, till they come loose.
