Carfax Warranty
can i return a car to the dealership?
I bought a car (2005 honda civic) from dealership in TN. and later i found out that there was an accident to the car. Before i buy a car, i noticed some stuff needed to be fixed. The dealership told me that because the car is under warranty, i can fix it in any Honda dealership for free.
after buying the car, I moved to Illinois and went to another honda dealership... i found out there was an accident and all the stuff i wanna fix is NOT under warranty.
Can i return the car to the dealership? If so, what should i do? carfax doesn't show any accidents. i checked the report myself...
Nope.
After buying it, you have 3 days. After that, it's your problem because it is a used car.
New cars are covered by the Lemon Laws in your state, used cars are not. It's your responsibility when you buy the car to read the warranty info and see if what you want fixed is covered, which on a used car is generally not very much.
If you can prove that the car was in fact in an accident and you have it in writing that the dealership said it wasn't, or that the car is in some way unsafe because of the accident, then maybe you have something.
Other than that, caveat emptor.
Sorry, but it looks to me like you are stuck with paying to have the stuff fixed yourself.
