Boxster Convertible
Why doesnt Porsche just cut the Boxster and introduce a Caymen Convertible?
it makes sense!
What makes sense is spelling the car "Cayman."
Porsche tried to differentiate the Cayman from the Boxter (the Cayman being a coupe version of the Boxter) in a marketing move to appeal to a different segment. The Boxter is a fabulous car, but also appeals to women or the men buying it for their wives. By segmenting the line, they can appeal to a new demographic and psychographic that may want something with more purity.
However, I feel Porsche priced the Cayman too high, and its sales have proved that, although perhaps they want it that way. As cool as a ragtop is, I'd lean towards the Cayman (if I could afford one) because I have a soft spot for coupes.
