On Club Penguin, When you become a black belt, do you have to do Competition or Sensei mode to become a ninja?

I became a black belt but I tried doing Sensei Mode a lot of times but hes not losing. Am I supposed to do Competition Mode first to Become a Ninja?

to become a ninja, select sensei mode and you will play him. it is impossible to beat him the first few times, but after you lose a lot, he will get weaker and you can beat him
