Can bio diesel be made from both liquid and powdered Lye?

I'm making some bio diesel and I can't find any powdered lye only liquid lye which has water mixed in it.

You cannot use liquid lye. Use only 100% pure (sodium hydroxide) lye. I use Roebic Heavy Duty Crystal Drain Opener which I at purchase at Lowes home improvement center or Tractor Supply stores>
