Which bank can provide me the best offer for a 16 year old?
I am 16 (17 on 11 May).
I am currently with HSBC, considering for Alliance and Leicester, but a friends told me they keep shutting down their branches in some places. So I don't know if I should go ahead with them.
I want the best interest rate that any bank could offer and provide.
Which bank do/would you recommend for me?
I second the vote for a credit union for the best interest rates you're going to get with a bank with branches.
You can do a search for "state" credit unions to find one in your location.
Now, if having a branch isn't that important to you, I would suggest getting your checking and savings online. They'll have significantly higher return rates and they're just as safe.
Personally, I have a small checking account at a credit union and then the majority of my money with ING. That way I get the convenience of depositing any non-direct deposit checks into a local branch and then the high interest rates from an online bank.
