Whenever I backup my digital camera avi. to cd, the videos do not play smoothly or the picture freezes?

I am using Imation CD-R 1x-52x 700mb DATA/MUSIC/PHOTOS cds
Do I need to use a different kind? All photos and music are fine. Its just the transfer of the avi to cd that does not play smoothly.

It sounds like your CD rom isn't reading the data fast enough. Buy a fast CD rom or maybe a faster computer. One test to see if that's the problem is to take your CD to Best Buy or whatever you have in your location and run it on one of their demo machines.
