Aux Save
Why do all my saved radio stations on my Sony Xplod get erased after I switch the car off??!!?
I've installed a Sony Xplod into my car and am having a few problems with it. It doesn't like the Aux cable I bought to plug my Ipod into it so now having to use the FM transmitter I bought for my old stereo again, as when I use the Aux cable the sound quality is really bad and I can't hear any lead vocals on the songs. Also when I tune in the radio stations and save them to the memory, switch off the car and then switch it on again, all the stations have been erased. The same happens with the clock - the correct time on it gets erased too! I have looked at the cables and am sure I have attached them properly. I'm starting to think I should never have replaced the ancient Pioneer stereo that was there before!! Has anyone had similar experiences or have any idea why i'm having so much trouble with this stereo?
The yellow wire on the back of the radio needs to be hooked to a power that does not shut off with the key. That is the "memory" power wire and the red one should be hooked to a wire that only has power with the key turned. Hope I have been helpful.
