Have you seen the Vietnam War documentary "The Fog Of War"? with Robert McNamara?
In this documentary, Robert McNamara, Secretary of Defense under John F. Kennedy and Lyndon Johnson, while talking about other issues, confesses to the lies of the Vietnam War and the lies that led to it.
He admits that the Gulf of Tonkin didn't happen and that John F. Kennedy was going to pull the US out of Vietnam, even providing an audio recording proving this.
If you've seen it, what's your opinion of it?
Yeah I saw it in theaters and again on DVD, but is that your real question? I did like the film (as I stated, I rented it after I saw it) but it was glaringly biased toward JFK's favor for what seemed to be personal reasons for McNamara. Him and JFK were great friends and better business allies. LBJ was definitely painted as the villain of the actions taken in Vietnam, but recall it was JFK who first got the US involved and JFK was also responsbile for Bay of Pigs, etc. Now that he is cannonized in history after the assassination, no one will ever know how good or bad he really was as president.
