- If you're buying packaged goods, it's useful to read the labels. Remember to check for calories, fat, sugar and salt content. Take these into account when planning your meals.
- Throw out the deep fryer and switch to steamed, raw, grilled or broiled food as appropriate.
- It's helpful to allow yourself some treats. If you love chocolate, then eat some in small amounts, occasionally and with great enjoyment. Don't forget to account for the calories, too.
